The Annual Post Budget Analysis of the Chamber was held on the 3rd of March 2016. Mr.Homi.P.Ranina, the eminent Tax Expert and Senior Lawyer, Supreme Court of India, shared his views on the Union Budget 2016-17. Mr. C.S. Kartha “ President “ CCCI, welcomed the gathering. Mr. K.B Rajan “ President “ ICCI, introduced the speaker Mr. Homi. P. Ranina. Mr. Homi. P. Ranina simplified this year's Union Budget to the entire 350 participants who had attended the session. In his speech he hinted that the Government is likely to roll back the budget proposal to tax EPF withdrawals in the coming days. He also said that "If rural demand picks up as a result of additional expenditure and a favorable monsoon, it would put India on the growth path and an 8% GDP growth is inevitable". According to him the only glaring deficency in this year's budget is the Government's inability to formulate a road map for the implementation of GST. He also spent some time clarifying the queries of the participants present. Mr. Syam Kumar.
