CEO Forum - Breakfast Meets

Started in 2015, the CEO Forum is an initiative of the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry that has seen many eminent speakers from different walks of life address the Member CEOs of the Forum on a variety of subjects over the past two years. The talks at the CEO Forum Breakfast Meetings are by subject experts on topics that are relevant to the industry. The monthly meetings are held on the first Friday of every month at the Taj Gateway Hotel, Ernakulam.

Management Development Programmes

The Chamber organises bi-monthly ‘Management Development Programmes’ on a variety of topics aimed at:

  • Understanding the characteristics of effective and ethical leadership in higher education.
  • Learning how to develop and lead high-functioning teams and function as a change agent.
  • Analysing financial data and understanding how funds are allocated and budgets are created.
  • Understanding optimal role in planning initiatives.
  • Identifying the conditions—individual and institutional—that increase opportunities for professional development and personal transformation.

Workshops and Seminars

The Cochin Chamber is a pioneer in organising Seminars and Workshops on various subjects. Management Development Programmes (MDP) are conducted on a regular basis. The Chamber also conducted a series of Workshops on the Goods & Services Tax (GST) ever since it was announced that India would be moving to this new regime. These sessions have allowed our Members and different businesses in trade and industry to understand the new law, its implementation and how they can navigate its complexities. The Cochin Chamber has always ensured best speakers at every session it has conducted.

Post Budget Analysis

The Chamber organizes Annual Post Budget Analysis meetings immediately following the presentation of the Union Budget in Pariament. These sessions give the participants a broader and clearer picture of the implications of the announcements made in the Union Budget each year.

Health Talks/Medical Camps

The Chamber organises talks on Health-related matters for its members on a regular basis. These programmes are conducted to create awareness on lifestyle related diseases and the importance of a Healthy Lifestyle, Work-Family Life Balance, Time Management, the importance of Proper Sleep and Relaxation Techniques. The Chamber also partners other trade organisations in organising Blood Donation Camps/Health Check-ups etc. as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

Annual Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Memorial Lecture

The Cochin Chamber organises an Annual Memorial Lecture to pay tribute to, and remember one of the greatest visionaries that this country has seen, the People's President, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.

In the year 2015, following the demise of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry instituted an Annual Lecture Series in honour of our late President. The first lecture was held on the 18th of December 2015 at which long-time associate of Dr. Kalam, Mr. Srijan Pal Singh was the Speaker. The second Lecture was on the 15th of October 2016 to coincide with the 85th birth anniversary of Dr. Kalam. Mr. P.M. Nair IAS (Retd.) who was Secretary to Dr. Kalam during his tenure as President (2002 – 2007) was the Speaker on that occasion.This year the Speaker was Mr. Hormis Tharakan, Former Chief of the Research & Analysis Wing, (RAW).
